If you don’t already have one going, I encourage you to start a physical hair journal. This is a reason for you to maximize that iPad, smartphone, or a really cool paper journal (very analog). This is where you document things such as shampoo/conditioner, type of blow dryer, and any other tools. Put down any product you introduce to your routine. Document when you get any haircuts or coloring services. Extension services. When you got them installed and how often you have them moved. Any smoothing treatments like Keratin’s or Brazilian Blowouts. Write down the highlights of your journey. Times when you do your hair really well and times when you don’t and how it makes you feel. Put your hair dreams down. If you want to be blonde. Have bangs. Juicy curls. All of it goes into your journal. Add in the cost of whatever you spend when it comes to your hair.
If you undergo this process for a year, you will have good data to look at when it comes to your hair journey. The answer to the questions you have on the journey and the directions to where you want to go will be in that journal.
